Grazing & Other Uses of Drought Corn Meeting

Drought is a reality in many parts of Nebraska. Dryland corn yields of 40 bushel per acre and less are anticipated for some.

An informational meeting will be held in two locations to discuss the how to’s, why’s and when’s of grazing standing corn. The grazing risks, benefits as well as the how to’s of pricing standing corn will be discussed.

The meeting will be held at the Courthouse Annex Meeting Room in Center on Monday, September 8 and again at the Extension Office in O’Neill on Wednesday, September 10. Both meetings will start at 2:00 p.m. and conclude by or before 4:00 p.m.

This no-fee meeting will be conducted by Ralph Kulm, Holt/Boyd County Extension Educator and Terry Gompert, Knox County Extension Educator. This will be a good meeting to ask questions and give suggestions on dealing with this drought dilemma. Everyone is welcome to attend.
